NNENA WAS

A MASTER

OF ACTION

IMPACT, HUSTLE, AND PROGRESS WERE SOME OF NNENA’S FAVORITE WORDS. SHE LIVED FEARLESSLY—CONSTANTLY ENCOURAGING, MENTORING, FOUNDING, LEARNING, TRYING, SUCCEEDING, FAILING, CELEBRATING—AND ABOVE ALL, LOVING.

ABOUT ONPF

Nnena was convinced that there was untapped talent everywhere—particularly the African continent. She believed her life’s vocation was to use her skills to help others develop their own. She left her profitable investment banking career and went to start her own company—Otundi—to help African inventors and small business owners grow their companies. She showed a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks, for being adventurous, bold, wise, and fearless.

OUR MISSION

The Otundi Nnena Patricia Foundation funds projects that support causes Nnena was passionate about. From entrepreneurism and finance to women’s development and supporting Africa. Everything centered around giving others the opportunity to win—like preparatory services and skills (interview preparation, resume writing, application support, and leadership training)—was close to Nnena’s heart.

ONPF X OTUNDI

Otundi—loosely defined as “the same group, cohort, or team”—is building Africa’s strongest cohort of founders. They support the continent by helping technology-enabled businesses achieve financial and social returns.

While overseeing Otundi’s investment strategy, funding activities, and portfolio construction/management, Nnena served as an active contributor to Africa’s emerging entrepreneurial and investing ecosystems.

ONPF GRANT REQUIREMENTS

At this launch stage, the ONPF mandate is to support smaller non-profit organizations that are working to advance the causes that Nnena believed in.

We expect for these organizations to have completed all necessary legal and regulatory documentation to support their efforts.

To be eligible for a grant, potential applicants from non-profit organizations will need to write up a formal business plan that describes the problem statement that the organization is trying to solve, the metrics and measures associated with the project, the required funding for the effort, and the expected impact on those key metrics as a result of the funding. After initial review of the application, select applications will be invited to present findings to the Board of Directors for final consideration and selection.
